Since 1987 Dune Buggy Warehouse has been the go to place for VW enthusiasts restoring vintage VW Beetles and Dune Buggies.
Background
Since Magento ended in 2020 Dune Buggy Warehouse knew they had limited time left on the platform. Magento had been a good eCommerce platform for many years however it was always difficult to manage in-house. This time they were looking for a simpler solution - one that would not require developers to be involved many times a year. They decided to go with Shopify since it satisfied their clients needs and their in- house capability to manage the website on their own.
The Challenge
Slow speed on their Magento website had always been an issue. Regular customers would often make remarks about how long they had to wait. With this redesign and migration to a new platform Dune Buggy was looking for better performance and speed.
