Dual Eyewear is a supplier of prescription sunglasses and sunglasses with enhanced reading capabilities. Since 2011, Dual Eyewear has created thousands of custom-lense glasses for users across the world. With nearly a dozen unique designs for everyone from professional athletes and aviation experts to beach-goers, Dual Eyewear offers reader-centric, visual sunglass products for men, women and children that big-box sunglass chains struggle to offer in both quality and speciality.
Background
Dual Eyewear was looking for a medium-business-sized, easy-to-use and affordable e-commerce platform to help enhance user experience and streamline their online sales processes.
Goals
Reduce costs and help develop a more user friendly experience for their customers and their team, Dual Eyewear knew that another solution had to be found. Magento simply had too many capabilities that Dual Eyewear didn’t need.
The Challenge
Dual Eyewear was utilizing Magento 1; yielding higher than expected cost of ownership, increasing the complexity of customizations, as well as difficulty optimizing digital campaigns. Team members were unable to easily use Magento 1 and required a more user-friendly platform. Other ecommerce platforms were evaluated, but were not able to meet the unique business requirement needs of Dual Eyewear.
